Skills development and knowledge sharing, especially in rural communities, has gained increasing momentum and significance in our work. To date we have provided on-site training, capacity building and mentoring for twenty-seven individuals.
One of the extended impacts of our projects include renovations to the home of 90-year old ’Ouma‘ (Granny) Rut Goliath – whose life story and amazing positive energy provided one of the chief sources of inspiration for our SME project in Keetmanshoop.
Despite living in a run-down little house where she takes care of five grandchildren, she remains gracious and upbeat. Touched by her joyous spirit, we found sponsors and volunteers who made it possible for us to give Ouma Rut an expertly renovated home that matches her generous heart.
